Around four o’clock this afternoon, May 9, on Ascension Day and Europapa Day, speeches were given by the fair associations and this year’s fair councilor Mirjam Wijnja at the catering square at the head of the Vismarkt prior to the official opening.
Everyone was pleased that it had worked again and everything fit in the new version of our living room, the Grote Markt.
Then a walk at the Vismarkt through the attractions on the way to the new Ferris wheel of the Akkerman family. A cousin of our well-known Akkerman from the oliebollen stall on the Zonnelaan. And now also at the Vismarkt.
Councilor Mirjam Wijnja cut a ribbon after which the group could experience the new attraction and admire Groningen from a height.
In short, a busy fair today where it was pleasant to spend time.
