A 32-year-old man who was injured in a stabbing incident at a holiday park in Beekbergen last night has died, the police report. The man was one of three victims found injured at the park.
According to the police, there was a conflict between several people. The argument was followed by a stabbing in a chalet, in which a suspect injured three men. Two of them were treated by the emergency services; the now deceased victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. Later in the night it turned out that the third victim had gone to the hospital himself. He had a head wound.
The 26-year-old suspect was arrested the same night at the holiday park. According to the police, he comes from Beekbergen, just like the victims. An investigation will be conducted in the chalet where the stabbing took place in the coming days.
Migrant workers
Omroep Gelderland writes that the chalet in question is rented by an employment agency and that migrant workers reside in it. Other residents of the holiday park say that there are more frequent incidents of violence between migrant workers who only stay in the houses for a short time, and that there is nuisance due to alcohol and drug use. They want the municipality to monitor the holiday park more.
