Last night at 7.55 pm, the police received a report of the shooting incident in the city center of Groningen. There, police found the 50-year-old man with serious injuries. The victim later died in hospital. The 47-year-old victim was also taken to hospital. It is unknown how he got on.
An argument preceded the shooting, involving the victims and the suspect. Police don’t know what they were arguing about.
Suspect arrested
A 24-year-old man from Groningen has been arrested for the shooting incident. The suspect initially fled, but was arrested about 15 minutes later.
Images of the shooting are circulating on social media. The police say they know the images and call on everyone to remove them and not to share them further. “Sharing these images is confrontational and hurtful to those involved and to families and friends of the victims,” the police wrote.
