PSV supporters are annoyed by the way their own club reported on social media on Tuesday about tonight’s away match against Excelsior.

PSV is still comfortably the leader in the Eredivisie with a seven-point lead over pursuer Feyenoord, but the Eindhoven team was put down to earth when they visited last Saturday. In De Goffert, the successful formation of trainer Peter Bosz lost 3-1, which meant the first loss this season in the Eredivisie after 23 wins and 3 draws.

PSV will visit Excelsior in Kralingen on Tuesday evening. The club’s social media team is confident that the Eindhoven team will take revenge for the defeat against NEC against the current number sixteen of the Eredivisie, as evidenced by the tone used on X prior to the match.

PSV posted two messages on the social platform on Tuesday that went down the wrong way with its own fans. “We are familiar with winning at Excelsior,” the club posted this morning with a photo of the away match against Excelsior on September 24, 2016, which match was won 1-3 by PSV. The PSV social media team then also showed off the 1-6 win over Excelsior on August 22, 2022 in the afternoon.

PSV’s tweets cause a lot of annoyance among its own fan base. “Let’s see it tonight first,” sighs a supporter. Another tweeted: “Don’t do this… NEC was already too hard.” Other reactions include: “Disrespectful nonsense all the time! Show respect for your opponent!”, “Arrogant reaction, act normal! Not PSV’s. Maybe the guy who manages the account needs his ears pulled,” and “What kind of strange message is this? Come on PSV, we as supporters don’t want to see this kind of arrogance, that is not “the PSV”.
