The bond between Feijenoord Stadium and Feyenoord did not improve last week. Lilian de Leeuw, director of Stadion Feijenoord, made a deal with the municipality without informing the club. Feyenoord is a tenant of De Kuip and hopes to buy the stadium. But now that concerts can no longer be given, even once renovation has taken place, a possible future source of income for the club is no longer available. “We believe that we should have been involved in this and could also have played a role for the benefit of Feyenoord and the interests of Feyenoord. In that respect, the last word has certainly not yet been spoken on this,” the director is clear.
Te Kloese would like to sit down with the stadium management again. “I think we need to sit down and think about this. We don’t want to let this suppress the party atmosphere, but it is clear that we are upset about this,” he concludes.
