Max Verstappen is currently making a big impression in Formula 1. The Dutchman managed to win four of the first five races this season, and he can win his fourth world title in a row this year. Christian Horner is proud of Verstappen, but he also warns that this success will not last forever.
Verstappen has broken many records in Formula 1 in recent months. Last year he became world champion by force majeure and only failed to win three Grands Prix. This year he has not yet won in Australia, because he dropped out with braking problems. It is therefore expected that Verstappen will become world champion for the fourth season in a row this year.
Metronome
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is extremely proud of the performance of his star driver. Horner shares compliments in China in conversation with Motorsport.com: “He just keeps driving like a metronome. He just continues with the speed he showed last year. Since the last Chinese Grand Prix in 2019, he has won half of all races. He has won 21 of the last 23 races. He is one with the car, one with the team.
Appreciate
However, Horner realizes that Verstappen’s domination will one day come to an end. The Brit therefore does not want to take anything for granted: “You have to appreciate the success. Max is an exceptional talent. It is a golden time for him, but like all drivers, it does not last forever. It is about enjoying the moment, in live the moment. There are no guarantees that we will be able to give him a car like this every time for the next five years. So you have to do what you can while you can.”
