BMXer Niek Kimmann has booked the fourteenth World Cup victory of his career in Tulsa. Among the women there was a silver medal for Manon Veenstra.

Kimmann, the Olympic champion from Tokyo, referred Australian Izaac Kennedy to the silver on the track in Oklahoma.

“This feels really good. Since the Games, I had only achieved a World Cup victory in 2022. And that too on a track that I don’t really like,” 27-year-old Kimmann laughed afterwards.

Kimmann had a good start, was the first into the first corner and did not relinquish the lead after that.

Earlier in the day, Jaymio Brink and Mitchel Schotman were stuck in the eighth finals. Jay Schippers and Dave van den Burg stranded one lap later.

Veenstra has to tolerate Sakakikara

Manon Veenstra won silver among the women. In the final battle she only had to tolerate Saya Sakakibara, who was superior this season.

For Veenstra it was the third medal of this World Cup season. She has already won bronze in both Rotorua and Brisbane.

Australian Sakakibara, who won two gold and two silver in the first four races, led from start to finish and recorded the ninth World Cup victory of her career.

Laura Smulders, Merel Smulders and Judy Baauw reached the semi-finals, but all three lost.
