Coolblue really doesn’t know more than anyone else without anything having been officially announced.

Yes, they often know that.

Manufacturers such as Apple (but also Samsung, for example) send under embargo new product information (and photos) to Coolblue so that they have time to set up product pages and marketing content.
So that as soon as the product is actually announced, these pages immediately come online so that potential customers can order/reserve immediately, so that you get search rankings, etc.

Compliance with the embargo is of course crucial. Manufacturers really don’t like it if you accidentally put information live earlier.
That goes quite far: Samsung, for example, has an invisible watermark in their images, with each recipient receiving their own watermark.
This way, if product photos appear somewhere before the end of the embargo (i.e. have been leaked), they can find out where they came from.

If that happens (I neither confirm nor deny that this ever happened at Coolblue ), then a partner manager really has something to say.
