At Insider Gaming they have some new details about this Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE managed to obtain. Assassin’s Creed Hexe is currently the most mysterious Assassin’s Creed game to come. Apart from a teaser at the end of 2022, little has been officially said about it.

The teaser already made that clear witchcraft would be a central element in Assassin’s Creed Hexe. According to previous rumors, the game would take place in the Holy Roman Empire of the 16th century, a period in which an estimated 80,000 “witches” were executed. In the game, players would take on the role of Elsa, a female protagonist who possesses some supernatural powers.

It is not known exactly what those powers entail, but Insider Gaming reportedly received some early gameplay footage that shows Elsa being chased by German soldiers of that time. The images show how Elsa hair forces used to control a nearby cat and distract the soldiers by dropping a glass bottle on the ground. According to Insider Gaming, the gameplay had a “dark” atmosphere.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe would also be a kind FearSystem that is (partly) based on that of the Jack the Ripper DLC from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. However, exact details remain scarce.

It is also mentioned that Assassin’s Creed Hexe is a more linear experience would offer, albeit with some limited elements of open-world exploration. This would make Assassin’s Creed Hexe more like the earlier than the more recent games in the series.

Despite an announcement in 2022, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is said to be in a relatively early phase of development. The release wouldn’t happen until (at the earliest). 2026 come via the new Infinity platform that is being developed for the Assassin’s Creed franchise and which should provide access to various Assassin’s Creed experiences.
