The 23-year-old Finn Foxell has had a very good year, because in 2022 he managed to meet the high expectations. A year ago, the leading BBC Radio 1 presenter Clara Amfo called him another artist to watch, a title he absolutely deserved with his mix of UK hip-hop and rock. Foxell’s unique sound is therefore his greatest asset to distinguish himself from his colleagues and in this new year he is determined to continue that line. A first ambitious single is the best example of this.
On the brand new “Red & Blue”, the Brit alternates like a real chameleon between profound raps and light-hearted choruses. The single shows a more romantic and sensitive side of Finn Foxell, which also makes us believe every word of his lyrics. In the stanzas we hear him as we have not often heard him and he tries to really emphasize what he wants to tell through a certain calmness in his flow. The choruses are also the ideal opposite with an infectious undertone, which always brings tempo to the song due to the fine instrumentation. “Red & Blue” is therefore anything but a song for which the artist has to turn red with shame or walk a blue.
