Boy stabbed to death after argument in Fez, brothers convicted of murder

A teenager has been sentenced to five years in prison by the Fez court for the murder of his friend. His brother was also convicted.

The drama unfolded when the 19-year-old victim and the convict got into an argument while playing football with other young people in the Saiss district. After the intervention of friends, they both went home. However, the suspect then asked his older brother for help to injure the victim.

The two brothers waited for the victim late in the evening as he walked home in Riyadh’s Awainat Hajjaj district. They attacked him with a stabbing weapon. The victim suffered a serious abdominal wound and died shortly afterwards as a result of a haemorrhage.

The minor was sentenced to five years in prison for “unintentional manslaughter”. The older brother was sentenced to ten years in prison. Both must also pay the victim’s parents compensation of 2 million dirhams.
