Son en Breugel – From April 8 to 21, the Charity Week Son en Breugel foundation will once again join forces with 18 charities in Son en Breugel. This means that, just like last year, one collector will come to your door on behalf of 18 organizations for which you can make a one-off donation.

This convenience is not only good news for donors, but also for the charities themselves. With this joint action, they aim to increase social awareness and involvement of residents, so that they can continue to provide financial support to participating charities.

The proceeds from the collection enable these charities to do a lot of good work, including for many residents of Berkenstaete in Son en Breugel. Last Friday, about fifty residents took part in the Charity Logo Bingo, a fun bingo afternoon with great prizes to be won. “We just want to organize a social activity and promote our foundation in a different, perhaps unusual way,” says Willem Man, one of the foundation’s volunteers, “and thanks to many sponsors we have nice prizes.”

The logos of the 18 organizations participating in the Charity Week in Son en Breugel appeared in random order on a large screen. Every time a logo appeared on the screen, it had to be crossed out on a bingo card with 9 logos. As soon as all the logos on the card had been crossed out, ‘bingo’ or the Brabant ‘kien’ sounded in the atrium of Berkenstaete and the lucky person received a nice prize, such as a delicious package from De Soepkom or a unique PSV football shirt.

“Today we are not collecting and are therefore not collecting money,” says Man. “No, today we are just giving away things, and we can do this free of charge thanks to the sponsors. We don’t cost anything either,” he adds with a laugh, pointing to the road manager and some volunteers who selflessly organized this afternoon.

The sponsors for this beautiful afternoon were: PSV, De Dames, De Soepkom, Plein 5, Le Soleil, Bekkers bakery, Het Sons Bakhuys, Smits Groente en Fruit, restaurant De Zwaan and Archipel. “It’s nice that PSV and the entrepreneurs in Son en Breugel support us and the seniors of Berkenstaete,” Man concludes.
