BUNNE/REGION – The wolf seems to be having a good time in our region. Today, Easter Monday, he is also spotted several times in or around the municipality of Noordenveld. These photos were taken in Bunne where the animal ventured close to the house. The land where he walks was previously populated by sheep. Sheep farmers in particular are in dire straits about the return of this animal to our country. Protecting their sheep is a difficult and expensive story.
The wolf is not only walking around in Bunnen. Today – no April Fool’s joke by the way – he is also captured in Eelde. A motorist sees him crossing the road near the Vosbergen estate. There are also images of the beast running through a residential area in this village. In Echten, near Hoogeveen, an area appears to be evacuated because a wolf has also been seen there. The forest there is currently busy with day trippers who enjoy the outdoors on their day off.
Tomorrow there will be a big story in the newspaper about this robber who is making the fields unsafe. We spoke to various sheep farmers who are concerned and asked politicians to what extent the municipality can help. A member of the BBB said: ‘Fear should not be the determining factor and we must keep an eye on reality.’
