The Pinnenhof opened for the last time today

--

Today the doors of the De Pinnenhof community center in Nederweert opened for the last time. The Pinnenhof foundation board organized a festive farewell.

New construction

After more than 55 years of loyal service, it is time for a renewal of the Pinnenhof. The transition from ‘the community house’ to a ‘multifunctional accommodation’. During this afternoon there were various performances and an impression of the new Pinnenhof could be seen. At the end of the afternoon the door was locked and the keys were handed over to councilor Dieteren.

The new MFA is created by merging the library building and the Pinnenhof building. In addition, the Center for Youth and Family, General Social Work and PSW are located in De Pinnenhof and the social partners are under one roof. Above all, the Pinnenhof is a central meeting place where everyone is welcome and where numerous activities are held. Curious about the design? On the Pinnenhof project page you will find the drawings of the new multifunctional accommodation and the latest updates.

Start work
In line with planning, the submission of permits and the tender process started in January. Preparations for the move to temporary housing started in February. Today, April 1, the current Pinnenhof building will close its doors for good and the associations will move to temporary housing locations. Furthermore, the award of the tender is scheduled for July 2024, after which demolition and construction work will start in September 2024. The renovated building is expected to be completed in December 2025, after which De Pinnenhof will open its doors in January 2026.
