PingPrice, an app that allows you to compare prices from multiple retailers at the same time, starts in the Netherlands. Founder Christophe Echement: ‘Price comparison sites are popular in the Netherlands, but there is not yet a “scan and go” app for everyday groceries.’

The app was already launched in Belgium last year. With the free app, available for both iOS and Android, consumers can compare prices from Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Plus, Dirk, Hoogvliet and Coop. Dekamarkt will follow soon, reports Food Personality.

‘By scanning the barcode of a product, the price of the product appears at various supermarkets in the area. This gives the consumer ‘live’ insight into where the cheapest shopping can be done. However, products can also be searched for using the search function in the app. PingPrice also offers the option to manage your own shopping cart and receive notifications when a product changes price or is on sale.’

Brand manufacturers and supermarkets can use PingPrice’s SaaS solutions to monitor prices, compare margins, time offers well and gain quick and clear insight into market movements, the app’s designers promise. Read more about PingPrice here.
