Dennis Black Magic, the well-known porn producer, was convicted last week of, among other things, rape, indecent assault on eight women, harassment and incitement to prostitution. That conviction also leaves Matteo Simoni, who played the role of Dennis Black Magic in the film Zillion, unaffected. Now that he looks back on the film, he doubts whether that was the right choice. “I might think twice about doing it again,” the actor says on Radio 1.

Last year, Dennis Black Magic came into the spotlight through the film ‘Zillion’, which extensively depicted his life and the start-up of his discotheque. But after the recent conviction of the porn producer, Matteo Simoni looks back on his role in the film with wry feeling.

When Zillion was recorded, Dennis Black Magic already had quite a feat under his belt. He has been convicted several times in the past for raping underage girls and inciting prostitution. “Robin Pront and I have always tried to create a certain distance,” says Matteo Simoni on Radio 1.

It was therefore a difficult choice for Simoni to take on the role of Dennis Black Magic. “I didn’t sleep for nights wondering if I should do that,” he says. But today the actor still doubts whether he would take on that role again today. “I don’t support the person he is today,” Simoni said. “I might think twice about doing it again.”
