Tesla reduces even more prices in the Netherlands

--

Tesla already lowered the price of the Model 3 earlier this week. Now it is also the Model S and X’s turn. This is how much cheaper they have become.

Both the Model S and the Model X now cost 2,000 euros less in the Netherlands. The Tesla Model S now has a starting price of 93,990 euros, while the Model X can be purchased from 100,990 euros. This is evident from the configurator on Tesla’s website. Earlier this week, Tesla also reduced the price of the basic version of the Model 3 by 2,000 euros.

Declining sales figures

Tesla cars are also becoming significantly cheaper in other countries this week. This is the case in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Africa. Tesla is lowering prices as it increasingly faces declining sales and increasing competition, mainly from China.

Tesla’s quarterly figures, which were announced on Wednesday, show that the company made 55 percent less profit during the first three months of 2024. The company also launched the new Tesla Model 3 Performance on Tuesday.

Affordable Tesla is coming

During the presentation of the quarterly figures, CEO Elon Musk announced that the ‘affordable’ Tesla will arrive sooner. According to Musk, the car, which should cost around $25,000, will be available early next year or even earlier. Initially, Tesla had announced a release date for the end of 2025.

What the affordable Tesla will look like remains a mystery. However, according to Musk’s biography written by Walter Isaacson, the electric car could potentially have a “futuristic design” similar to the Cybertruck.
