PSV can no longer miss the title after the massacre in Heerenveen, is there a party in Eindhoven tonight? | PSV

PSV left nothing intact from sc Heerenveen on Thursday. The score was 0-8 (!) in Friesland. This means that the championship is as good as won, but the question remains when. Already tonight? Then Feyenoord has to lose points to Go Ahead Eagles (kick-off 9 p.m.).

“Here in the south!” And: ‘Singing Fritsje Philips, we will be champions!’ PSV supporters had a wonderful evening in the Abe Lenstra Stadium. Precisely in Friesland, where PSV has often struggled in recent years, the team played one of the best games in this already great season. It must have felt for the players of SC Heerenveen as if they had ended up in a grand rondo.

Tension in Deventer

Malik Tillman in particular had it on his hips. The sometimes phlegmatic American provided the assist on Guus Til’s 0-1 and then scored twice himself. And how: at 0-3 he fumbled the ball into the goal while sitting with an impact ball. Only 11 minutes had been played and so the tension was mainly in Deventer on Thursday. If Feyenoord even draws against Go Ahead Eagles, PSV will win its 25th national title.

Now Peter Bosz’s team is still unofficial champions. Because it never became exciting in Heerenveen. Even before half time it was already 0-5: Til and Joey Veerman further increased the score. That last goal was beautiful and special: the former SC Heerenveen player did not cheer and received applause from the Frisian audience. It was also PSV’s hundredth (!) Premier League goal this season.

Nice shot

It once again shows that PSV rises above everything and everyone in the Premier League. Bosz’s team is already writing history and can still break all kinds of records. PSV continued cheerfully in the second half, although Patrik Walemark’s goal was disallowed. Not much later it was 0-6, after a horrific shot by Johan Bakayoko, via the underside of the crossbar.

In the final phase, Bosz brought on a number of eager substitutes, of whom Patrick van Aanholt also scored. He made the 0-8, after Luuk de Jong had previously made the 0-7. A monster victory. One minute before the end, the match was temporarily stopped because PSV supporters set off massive fireworks from the away section and fireworks were even thrown onto the field. Referee Danny Makkelie waited until the smoke had cleared somewhat, after which the game was completed.

Furthermore, we now have to wait for Go Ahead Eagles – Feyenoord.

Bakayoko comes in and takes a swing. The ball ends up on the crossbar, just a little too high for the 0-6.
