Newcastle United sealed the fate of Sheffield United with a 5-1 win. The visitors took the lead in Newcastle, but collapsed after a 1-1 halftime score in the second half. The defeat means that relegation is a fact after one year of the Premier League.
Newcastle, seventh in the Premier League, was 2 points behind Manchester United. Coach Erik ten Hag’s team could not beat second-last Burnley (1-1) on their own field.

The newly crowned champion of Germany showed in the last half hour that his hunger has not yet been satisfied after winning the title. The undefeated status remained intact after a miraculous escape in injury time: 2-2.

Bayern Munich, which hosts Real Madrid in the other Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1. Harry Kane gave the home team the lead in the 9th minute with his 34th goal of the season. Frankfurt, with Donny van de Beek as a late substitute, leveled again in the 23rd minute through a goal by Hugo Ekitike. Matthijs de Ligt was replaced at half-time at Bayern. He watched from the sidelines as Kane converted a penalty after an hour to take his total to 35.

Atlético Madrid has achieved an important victory in the battle for a ticket for the Champions League. The number 4 of La Liga was too strong in their own stadium with 3-1 for Athletic Bilbao, which is fifth. The difference between the two clubs grew to 6 points.
Girona can add another win to their remarkable dream season. With Daley Blind at the heart of the defense for the entire match, Las Palmas was put aside 0-2. Daley Sinkgraven was in the starting line-up at Las Palmas. In Gran Canaria it was a penalty shootout match.

The difference between the two clubs remains five points in favor of AC Milan. With four games left to play, they appear to be heading for second place in Serie A.

There was already championship fever in Paris. Whether the ninth title in the last eleven years will come is no longer the question. It could already have happened in the home match against Le Havre, but the relegation candidate spoiled the party.
Le Havre brutally took the lead early in the match through Christopher Operi. Bradley Barcola did something back on behalf of the Parisians, but before half time Andre Ayew gave the away team the lead again. After the break it even became 1-3 via a penalty.
The points would have helped Le Havre out of the relegation zone, but PSG did something back. In the final phase it became 3-3 via Achraf Hakimi and Goncalo Ramos. It ended in a draw, which felt like a defeat for everyone.
If AS Monaco does not win at Olympique Lyon on Sunday, the title will still be won. Otherwise, the next opportunity is on May 12. Then PSG plays at home against Toulouse. In between, it will play Borussia Dortmund twice more in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
