RB Leipzig has established itself more firmly in the top 4 against first pursuer Dortmund. At home, Loïs Openda scored the equalizer and assisted the third goal. Leipzig seems to have secured a Champions League ticket, while Dortmund may also be able to go to the Champions League as fifth.
In recent years, a match between RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund has all too often been a clash for second place, in the wake of Bayern Munich. This year things are completely different: due to revelations Leverkusen and Stuttgart, today it was “only” 4th place.
That fourth place normally entitles you to the last Champions League ticket in the Bundesliga. So Leipzig and Dortmund knew what they were fighting for.
Thanks to a nice strike from Sancho, Dortmund soon virtually swept Leipzig, but barely 3 minutes later Loïs Openda restored the score and the rankings.
