The new episode of the Heritage Journaal Haarlemmermeer features, among others, the De Leeghwater pumping station, the bridge keeper of the Halfweg Bridge and artist Ineke Kamman.

De Leeghwater pumping station in Buitenkaag was the first of the three Haarlemmermeer pumping stations and was built in 1845.

Next year De Leeghwater will celebrate its 180th anniversary and it is still in operation. Although the pumping station is not open to the public, the Heritage Journal was given free access.

We also took a look at Zwanenburg and spoke with bridge keeper Bart Buijs from the Halfweg Bridge.

According to Bart, all bridges in Zwanenburg have existed for 125 years, so it is high time for a bridge monument.

Also attention is paid to glass artist Ineke Kamman from Hoofddorp, who is known for her beautiful glass flower gardens and her Glass Four Leaf Clover.

The Heritage Journal Haarlemmermeer can be found on YouTube from today.
