Flash delivery company Getir will stop delivering super-fast groceries in the Netherlands. The Turkish company is also putting an end to its activities in Great Britain, Germany and the United States.
In a press release, Getir writes that the company only focuses on flash deliveries in its home country of Turkey. According to Getir, all employees will be informed today about the departure from our country.
For the time being, you can still order groceries via the app. When asked, Getir says that customers “can still place orders in the coming weeks”. As soon as this is no longer possible, customers will see this in the app.
According to Getir, deliveries from Europe and the US account for only 7 percent of turnover. With Getir’s departure, Gorillas, the competitor that Getir had acquired last year, also disappears from Europe. That takeover apparently did not lead to enough growth.
Before leaving, Getir had to raise money from investors. The company does not state how much this concerns. The German Flink is now the last remaining flash delivery company in the Netherlands.
