man attacks schoolgirls, one dead

A gruesome tragedy has struck Sefrou in Morocco. A man attacked three schoolgirls from Lahcen Lyoussi College with a knife as they walked home after school. The attack resulted in the death of one of the girls, while the other two victims were seriously injured.

The perpetrator, who fled after his act, was arrested by the authorities after a manhunt thanks to the vigilance of an official who alerted the police and the Royal Gendarmerie. The suspect is currently in custody and will appear in court.

According to the allegations, the man attacked the girls with a knife. One of the victims, who suffered serious abdominal wounds, was rushed to the Hassan II University Hospital in Fez, where she died. The two other girls are still being treated in hospital for injuries to their hands and faces.

The heinous act has aroused deep outrage and anger. The local chapter of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) condemned the “cowardly act” in a statement and called on authorities to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
