Singer The Weeknd has donated $2 million to deliver food to families in Gaza. This would allow 18 million loaves of bread to be sent to families.

The Weeknd founded his in March 2022 XO Humanitarian Fund on. To date, the fund has raised $6.5 million to help people with limited access to food. In December, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, donated $2.5 million through his fund to provide food to families in Gaza. With that donation, 820 tons of food, or 4 million meals, could be financed.

Now singer gives through his XO Humanitarian Fund another $2 million. That money will be used to make more than 18 million loaves of bread and feed more than 157,000 Palestinians for a month, the UN World Food Program (WFP) said.

“As famine looms in Gaza, Abel’s generous support will provide vital assistance to thousands of Palestinian families who fight the grip of hunger every day,” said Corinne Fleischer, WFP Director for the Middle East, Northern Region Africa and Eastern Europe. “We are extremely grateful for his contribution, his compassion and his tireless commitment to WFP and the people of Palestine.”
