As part of the National Remembrance Day, DitisHelmond will observe two minutes of silence on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. The DitisHelmond radio station and TV channel do not broadcast for 120 seconds. We think it is important to observe the commemoration and that means that the radio programming on Saturday evening is slightly delayed.

The radio program Cocktail FM therefore only starts the two minutes of silence there at 8:04 p.m. Completely switching off the radio and TV is a rare occurrence. There is a lot involved in this process. Our technical volunteers have been working hard for days on the preparations for the television management and disabling security systems at the radio station. For example, an emergency transmitter that normally starts an emergency record after 30 seconds of silence is switched off, so that our radio station is now silent for 2 minutes.

Guests of honor
People who like to follow the Helmond Remembrance Day on television at home can go to DitisHelmond TV. In collaboration with the municipality of Helmond, a special program has been put together in honor of the liberation of Helmond that took place 80 years ago. Guests of honor from abroad have traveled to Helmond especially for this commemoration. There is also great musical programming and much more.

The television broadcast starts around 7:15 PM, after which the program starts at 7:30 PM. If you are unable to watch this live, you can always watch the broadcast later on our YouTube channel.

The sound for the television broadcast is provided by Ted Willems of Willems Music.
