On April 12, less than a month ago, 14-year-old Binyamin Achimeir was brutally murdered and his body mutilated by a Palestinian terrorist in the Binyamin region north of Jerusalem. Achimeir was a shepherd and was attacked and killed while traveling with his flock. Ten days later, 21-year-old Ahmed Dawabsha was arrested and confessed to the murder of the Jewish young man.
Dawabsha likely faces a life sentence (who knows if he won’t be released one day as part of a Western-enforced “goodwill gesture” by Israel), but he will be richly rewarded for his efforts.
According to a calculation by Palestinian Media Watch, which has documented in detail the Palestinian Authority’s “pay for murder” policy, Dawabsha will receive more than 5.6 million shekels (1.5 million US dollars) when he is 75 years old .
Imprisoned Palestinian terrorists are paid on a weighted scale according to the length of their sentence.
For the first 15 years of his sentence, Dawabsha will receive just under 700,000 shekels (187,000 US dollars).
The next 15 years will earn him 1.5 million shekels (400,000 US dollars).
He will then reach the highest level of the “pay-for-slay” program, which is a monthly salary of 12,000 shekels (3,200 US dollars). This is roughly equivalent to an average monthly salary in Israel and an absolute fortune in the Palestinian Authority.
And all of this is funded with foreign aid (i.e. YOUR tax dollars).
One of the biggest obstacles to peace in the Middle East is how lucrative it is for Palestinian Arabs to turn to terrorism and kill Jews. Their own economy is in tatters, their government is hopelessly corrupt. But killing Israelis is still lucrative because it keeps the conflict going, keeping foreign aid flowing into the pockets of those same corrupt Palestinian Authority officials.
