Liberation DayKing Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima arrived at the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam on Sunday evening, prior to the traditional May 5 concert on the Amstel. And the artists Claude, Flemming, Son Mieux and Wende, this year’s Ambassadors of Freedom, were taken by helicopter to the liberation festivals where they will perform on Sunday. Claude and Flemming call it a privilege to do this and are happy that the festivals are happening at all despite financial concerns. Follow our live blog about Liberation Day below.
