The police arrested two Capellen residents and a Rotterdam resident last night on the A16. Officers were forced to draw their weapons and fire a warning shot.

The Police say that a video appeared online. The images showed knives and firearms. According to the Police, a vehicle was also seen in the same vehicle, after which it was put in the police system.

Around half past one at night, a camera on the A16 spotted the car in question, and officers went after it. The car was pulled over for inspection. Due to the possible presence of the weapons, officers drew their weapons.

Warning shot

Because the occupants did not cooperate, an officer fired a warning shot, the police announced. After this, the car could be searched and a knife was found. Firearms were not found.

The knife was confiscated and the three men were arrested. It involved two Capellen residents aged 21 years old and a Rotterdam resident aged 22 years old. After interrogation, the three men were sent back. Detectives are conducting further investigation into the video and the possible involvement of the three.
