In the NBA they don’t laugh at bad behavior. Jamal Murray also experienced this. The Canadian from Denver must pay a fine of $ 100,000 for throwing a hot pack and towel at a referee in Monday’s match against Minnesota.
Champion Denver is underwhelmed against Minnesota in the Western Conference semifinals. It lost its two home matches. It was 80-106 on Monday.
A frustrated Murray voiced his displeasure from the bench, throwing a hot pack and towel at the ref closest to him in the second quarter. The hot pack moved onto the playing field.
It was not immediately clear who or what, but the delayed footage showed Murray was the perpetrator. Minnesota coach Chris Finch called Murray “dangerous and inexcusable behavior.”
The NBA fined him $100,000 the next day.
Fortunately for him and Murray’s Denver, he escaped without suspension, as that was initially feared. So he will be able to participate in Game 3 on Friday.
