Streaming services are increasing their prices: now also HBO Max

--

From June you will pay 9.99 euros per month compared to the current 7.99 euros, but other subscriptions are also offered.

HBO Max

A cheaper HBO Max subscription includes advertising, so you pay around 5.99 euros per month. With such a subscription you will see advertisements before and during your series or film and you can stream on two devices at the same time.

HBO Max also comes with a premium subscription for 13.99 euros: you get 4K quality images, a hundred downloads and you can stream on four devices simultaneously. The standard subscription of 9.99 euros per month contains no advertisements. You get full HD images, can stream on two devices simultaneously and download up to thirty titles.

A sheep over the dam

Every streaming service seems to be going for a price increase. If one sheep crosses the dam, more will clearly follow. Last year, users paid 4.99 euros for Amazon prime instead of 2.99 euros. Disney+ also added a euro: a subscription now costs 10.99 euros. Netflix only increased prices in France, the United Kingdom and the United States. Users pay 13.49 euros for a standard subscription and 20 euros for a premium subscription.

With the price increase, streaming services hope to strengthen their results, because according to the companies behind the services, it is mainly about margins.
