Expensive lobster rolls. $275 for a bowl of nachos. The prices charged by the Hard Rock Cafe in Miami went viral on social media. But in recent years, Formula 1 fans have increasingly complained about rising prices at the circuit.

In Pitstop, the weekly Formula 1 podcast from AD Sportwereld, presenter Etienne Verhoeff delves into the prizes surrounding a race. He discusses it with AD F1 watcher Marijn Abbenhuijs and Mitchell Stegers, who organizes trips to Formula 1 with EMboost.

“In Zandvoort, visitors complain about a beer for €6.50, but Americans laugh about that,” Stegers says in the podcast. ‘In a sports stadium in the US you can easily spend 30 dollars for a hamburger sandwich,’ adds Abbenhuijs. Stegers: ‘In Formula 1 you see that mainly cheap tickets are sold or very expensive VIP packages. The middle group is actually forgotten.’
