Borrow more cheaply from the National Heat Fund through municipal assistance

From now on, residents of Capellen can take out a loan more cheaply through the National Heat Fund. With such a loan, homeowners can make their home more sustainable.

Through a contribution from the municipality to the heating fund, Capellen residents can receive an interest discount of 1.5%. With this measure, the municipality wants to encourage residents to make their homes more sustainable. The municipality has invested a total of €250,000 in the fund.

With an Energy Savings Loan, Capellens with an owner-occupied home can, for example, purchase a (hybrid) heat pump, insulate the house or install solar panels. This also saves money in the longer term.

Help more Capellen residents

Councilor Sjoerd Geissler (Sustainability) is happy that the municipality can offer this help: “It’s great that we can contribute to a more sustainable Capelle in this way. As a municipality, we are very aware that not all residents have the financial resources to implement multiple sustainability measures. We hope that this interest discount will help more Capellen residents make their homes more sustainable.”

For Capellen residents with a (joint) income of up to 60,000 euros per year, it was already possible to take out an Energy Savings Loan at 0% interest through the National Heat Fund. The municipality says it considers it important to also help Capelse residents who fall outside this group to make their homes more sustainable. The interest discount also allows Capellen residents with a (joint) income higher than 60,000 euros per year to borrow more cheaply.
