Johan Derksen finds it special that Pastoor’s name is not mentioned anywhere. “Would that Alex have another club or another job?” he wonders Today Inside. “He was going to become a truck driver,” jokes Valentijn Driessen. The coach indicated that he would like to do something other than football. “He’s leaving because he doesn’t think he can grow any further there,” the journalist thinks.

“He may think he is very well positioned in the market, because he has not done badly,” Derksen continues. However, Driessen thinks that is not the case. “The clubs are not queuing up, I don’t hear Feyenoord talking about Alex Pastoor either. He has been there before (as trainer of Jong ed.).”

Feyenoord is still looking for a new trainer. Dick Schreuder recently admitted that the Rotterdam club can always call. “He should not have done that, that was a bit of a cheap advertisement,” says Derksen. “If he had stayed with PEC, he had brought them back to the Eredivisie, he could have made a leap in the Netherlands. Not by making quick money in Spain.”
