An Israeli delegation will leave for the United States after all. According to Hammelburg, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant would have arranged the reconciliation attempt. ‘He is already in the US and has had discussions with his fellow defense minister Lloyd Austin and others. They will undoubtedly have conveyed the message that they cannot do this and it is to Israel’s own disadvantage.’ The tricky point is the desired invasion of Rafah, which almost the entire West is against.

The Americans will reach out to the Israeli delegation, which will probably arrive next week. “The idea is to provide the Israelis with certain plans on how they can get what they are looking for.” According to Israel, certain key Hamas figures are still in Rafah, also with Israeli hostages.
