Following the Israeli airstrike on aid workers from World Central Kitchen (WCK), Israeli President Herzog apologized to the founder of the aid organization. Army leader Halevi has also gone through the dust; he speaks https://twitter.com/IDF/status/1775290147426152931 of a serious mistake.

Seven WCK employees were killed in the attack. They were hit in a car in the middle of the Gaza Strip after taking relief supplies to a warehouse. The car was clearly recognizable from above as a WCK vehicle. In response to the attack, several countries have asked the Israeli government for an explanation.

The highest ranking Israeli soldier, Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi, says it was not the intention to harm the aid workers. He says in the video that the mistake was made after a misidentification. “This should not have happened.” This is followed by an expression of regret.

Herzog and Halevi both expressed their appreciation for WCK’s efforts. The organization plays an important role in distributing aid in the Gaza Strip and also provided aid to Israelis after the Hamas attack on October 7. The organization suspended activities in Gaza after the attack.
