Several horses bolted in central London this morning. Footage on X shows the animals running through the streets around Aldwych. All horses have now been captured, reports the police in the British capital.

An army spokesman told British media that at least four people were injured. The horses belong to the stables of the British royal family. They allegedly broke out during an exercise in the Belgravia district.

According to the spokesperson, this involved a total of five horses. Photos and videos show two horses, one of which is covered in blood. In their panic, the animals ran into taxis and a bus.

The horses ran straight through the center:

A taxi driver tells the BBC that he saw three horses galloping towards Buckingham Palace. “It sounded like there was a car accident.”

According to the driver, there was a van covered in blood at a hotel with a large dent in the side. “All the windows were broken, so I think the white horse ran into it.”
