Decathlon has launched a new electric bicycle that is well equipped for longer bike rides. The e-bike has a powerful Bosch mid-motor and a large battery. You can also transport a lot of luggage with it.
Decathlon has launched a new range of electric bicycles. One of the new models is an e-bike that, according to the manufacturer, is suitable for long trips on ‘any type of road’. The new Stilus E-Touring has a fourth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motor with 85 Nm torque. This means that you should still be able to climb a hill smoothly, even if your e-bike is heavily loaded.
Bosch Power Tube
In addition, the new e-bike has a large 750 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, which according to Decathlon is intended ‘for cycling adventures on long and difficult roads’. It gives you a maximum of 130 kilometers of pedal assistance. The battery is integrated into the frame, but is removable. There is a Bosch Kiox bicycle computer on the handlebars, including navigation and an e-bike lock function.
The Stilus E-Touring has a suspension fork with a travel of 100 mm and hydraulic disc brakes. The bicycle has a derailleur and ten gears, while some competitors have a maintenance-free belt drive. The 2.35 inch Schwalbe tires should make cycling on forest paths and field roads more comfortable. The Spanninga lighting is located at the front and rear, which is powered by the e-bike’s battery.
Bring a lot of luggage
This electric bicycle is also suitable for transporting a lot of luggage, for example during a cycling holiday. In addition to the rear luggage carrier, you can also place Decathlon’s Riverside front carrier on the front. The total weight that the bicycle can handle is 145 kilograms, while the e-bike itself weighs 26 kg. The e-bike is compatible with all Decathlon bicycle travel bags and ‘all bicycle trailers on the market’.
Decathlon sells the e-bike in the Netherlands in three sizes, for 3,520 euros. The L size is currently not available yet.
