The long-term story has already been undermined. By 2020, there would be a million robotaxis on the road, each earning $30,000 a year for their owners. They were projected to have 50% annual growth through 2030, but the only time they saw more than 50% growth was the year they made that claim. They would be selling 20 million cars a year by 2030… Really, anyone with common sense saw that these claims were ridiculous… but that didn’t stop Tesla from continuing to spread such outlandish predictions.

Remember the claims about Tesla Semi trucks in autonomous convoys being better than trains? And that all orders would be fulfilled in 2019 after a large down payment?

People are now pinning their hopes on a $/€25,000 Tesla… meanwhile BYD is already selling electric cars for $10,000-$15,000 in China. And in the US and Europe, several companies are already focusing on cheaper electric vehicles.

And the claims about the Cybertruck with its low price and large range, which the industry would fight? It currently sells for $43,000 more than the F-150 Lightning Lariat, after the US federal rebate.

When will people stop giving Elon Musk the benefit of the doubt, something he clearly didn’t deserve? He has lied so often on stage, it is incomprehensible that anyone still takes him and his company seriously.

Maybe when the company’s stock rose over 800% in one year, due to market manipulation and cutting employee wages while working through the COVID shutdowns… But today, with the stock up 60% BELOW its high AND down 45% since nine months ago… And likely to drop even further before the end of the year?

How can people still take this company seriously?
