Food truck festival HOPPAAA! from Ascension Day in Gorinchem for four days

GORINCHEM You don’t have to think about what to put on the menu for four days. You don’t have to wait for the delivery service because; During the long Ascension weekend, the food truck festival will take place in Gorinchem. This festival has the character of a large family reunion and is characterized by a wonderfully relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The nicest food trucks present themselves, there are various bars, you listen to nostalgic hits and there are plenty of activities for the kids. The family-friendly festival takes place from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 May on the Buiten de Waterpoort site, every day from 12:00 to 21:30. It is advisable to come by bike or on foot, the Buiten de Waterpoort car park is closed.

You can get dishes from all over the world at the food trucks. From American hot dogs to Thai stir-fry dishes and curries. From loaded nachos, German flammkuchen and Mexican tacos.
Traditional Dutch fries, poffertjes and toasted sandwiches to authentic Italian pastas, pizzas and delicious anti pasti. Many mobile kitchens offer the shared dining principle by means of a well-stocked snack board or tasty platter. “We see that many groups of friends and families love to share dishes with each other,” says Gera van Vliet of event organization Bruisend. Long dining with a drink and nice music in the background. In the meantime, the kids can have a shuffleboard competition, have their faces painted or get a glitter tattoo, that’s HOPPAAA!

SPECIAL BEERS ON TAP

All (special) beers are on tap in the House Bar. There are also non-alcoholic beers, a tasty sangria and slush puppy for the kids. At the bright pink Wine Club you have come to the right place for a good glass of wine or a sparkling prosecco. The beautiful selection of quality wines has been put together by wine specialists. There is advice on wine and food combinations and if in doubt you can taste for free. A little further on you will find the Cocktail Bus. From an Espresso Martini or a Sex on the Beach to an alcohol-free Gin Tonic or a Frozen Pornstar Martini to share, there is plenty of choice.

NO HASSLE WITH COINS

You probably know them; the festivals where coins are used. Once you get home you find a few in your pocket that you will never be able to use again. The HOPPAAA! festivals do not work with this. Admission is free and you can pay by card and/or cash at every truck or bar. They also work with the hard cups/festival glasses that you return. This way they keep the field clean and less plastic waste is created.

PLEASANT DECIBELS:

The festival is characterized by ‘pleasant decibels’. You don’t have to shout to place your order and you can hear each other at the picnic table. You will recognize the live music from the hits of the past and present, the ‘Ohja’ moments and classic sing-along songs from the Top 2000.
