Maan de Steenwinkel will release a new song on Thursday after several months of silence. Paranoia can be heard from 8:30 am, she announced in the fashion magazine Vogue.
The 27-year-old singer performed at several festivals last summer, but after that she no longer showed anything of herself in a business sense.
“Lost in the traffic and road signs in Japan, one thing became very clear to me: maybe I will take a different tack. The voice that I have suppressed for so long is finally getting space to speak,” Maan tells the magazine. “It’s not that I don’t like my old music anymore, but I’ve outgrown it.”
The singer says she has experienced that it is good to ‘zoom out’ and ‘go back to what brings you peace, especially when the world turns up the volume knob’. She believes that everyone should allow themselves that, whether on holiday or at home. “That doesn’t mean that things are going badly for you, you just choose what really matters.”
