Rebel Wilson’s biography was republished in an amended form a few weeks after its release in the United Kingdom and Australia. The passages about her alleged unpleasant work experience with comedian Sacha Baron Cohen have been edited.

The book was pulled from the shelves shortly after its release in the UK and Wilson’s native Australia. At the time it was reported that this happened because it was more convenient for her promotional tour. It now appears that the book had to be adapted for “legal reasons”. Some passages have been deleted or rewritten, publisher HarperCollins says The Guardian.

Baron Cohen’s spokesperson is happy with the adjustments. “HarperCollins did not fact-check this chapter in the book before publication and took the sensible but terribly belated step of removing Rebel Wilson’s defamatory claims as soon as evidence was presented that they were false.”

In Rebel Rising Wilson accuses the comedian of misconduct. She writes, among other things, that the actor misbehaved on the set of The Brothers Grimsby (2016). According to the actress, he asked her several times to perform actions that were not in the script. For example, he allegedly asked his colleague to perform a certain scene naked. He also allegedly dropped his pants and asked her to put her finger in his anus. Cohen denies all allegations.
