The Amsterdam presenter and program maker Luuk Dresen suddenly passed away last Sunday at the age of 27. Luuk Dresen, together with Marcel Bamberg, presented the program ‘Political Games’ on AT5 in the run-up to the municipal elections, and was previously featured in the program ‘De Nacht Van’ on AT5†
The news was released today via an Instagram obituary. According to manager Cyriel Marijnissen, Luuk Dresen died in a fatal accident. “I just can’t believe it. Your world comes to a standstill in one fell swoop. I can barely comprehend it.”
”Enthusiastic optimistic professional”
Luuk was a very optimistic and smart guy, says Marijnissen. ”He had done a very heavy study and recently also completed a master’s degree in Communication Science. Luuk wanted to get into the media and had to become a new face in the Dutch media.”
In addition to his work as a voice-over, he presented a lot and had his own well-run podcast. “Luuk was really one of our talents,” says Marijnissen. ”Truly a professional and very eager to learn. He has made a lot of steps in the run-up to the general public. But the real general public will never really get to know him.”

In the run-up to this year’s municipal elections, Luuk Dresen was featured in the four-part series ‘Political Games’ on AT5† Together with fellow presenter Marcel Bamberg, Dresen tested the knowledge of the Amsterdammer about the city council in the program. Together with passers-by as opponents, they played classic Dutch games with a political twist and talked to aldermen and party leaders.
Dressen was for AT5 Previously featured in the program ‘De Nacht Van’, in which he investigated how nightlife got through the corona crisis. According to Marijnissen, Luuk was very proud of his work at AT5† He always came up with formats and was so proud of the stamp AT5†
