From the moment Máxima Zorreguieta came into the picture twenty-five years ago as ‘the girlfriend of’ then Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, there has been one item that she almost always has with her and that is a warm wrap.
Sometimes it takes the shape of a thin, large scarf, sometimes it is more of a cape. The wrap often hangs over her arm, sometimes a lady-in-waiting keeps it on hand. And she always uses it as a multifunctional accessory: she sometimes crawls under it for a nap during a long drive or flight.
Mary’s wrap
This week, Queen Mary was also spotted with a Máximale wrap that actually flew in the wind.
Wrap à la Charlene
And Princess Charlene of Monaco also turned out to have treated herself to something like that: not as formal as a coat, but still a bit of coverage (because it’s not exactly high summer yet in Monte Carlo either).
Cashmere, what else?
She wore her Loro Piana to a charity bike ride run by the COCC (Champagne & Oyster Cycling Club – only in Monaco, folks) that raises money for the Princess Charlene Foundation. Since the princess doesn’t buy anything cheap, we are talking about the Sydney in cashmere, trimmed with leather for 5,190 euros.
No puff sleeves, ruffles or bombastic princess dresses for Charlene of Monaco. In terms of clothing style, she is a little different from most princesses. But royalty vlogger Josine proves that she is a real fashion icon using four key words.
