MALMöThe Eurovision Song Contest was brutally disrupted on Thursday evening by a screaming man who ran onto the stage during the festival. However, after investigation it appears that the man had no wrong intentions.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest is surrounded by strict security measures. Large parts of the city have been cordoned off and heavily armed police are stationed around the Malmö Arena. Despite this, it seems that this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has gotten its dose of unexpected moments early.

The chaos ensued when a person dressed in white entered the stage between performances from other countries and started shouting loudly. The screaming continued for approximately two minutes and was supported by various sound and light effects.

The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest have confirmed that the man left the stage of his own accord after a few minutes. “At first the organization assumed that it was a protest action,” said a spokesperson for the Swedish organization. “It only later turned out that it was a Belgian singer who introduced himself as Mustii.”

The Belgian delegation has apologized for the misunderstanding and promised to investigate the matter internally. The Belgian man could be eliminated by the jury.
