Bus line 16 will run past the P+R Haren stops and via Eelderwolde to Martini Ziekenhuis Zuid, Martini Ziekenhuis main entrance, Corpus den Hoorn Zuid and Sportlaan. This makes Martini Hospital, Certe, Lentis Dignis and Maartenshof easily accessible, as well as the adjacent companies in the area. If there is a lot of interest, the timetable can be further expanded.

Accessibility

“This new bus line allows many employees to easily travel to and from work every day. And not only that, as an environmentally conscious and green hospital it also contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions,” says Jos Nijhof, director of facilities at the Martini Hospital.

If line 16 does not run at the desired time, travelers can travel to the Main Station with lines 9, 10, 19 or 85 and then transfer to line 5, 6 or 312 to P+R Haren.

To collaborate

“I am very pleased that we have been able to realize this new bus line together with Bedrijvenvereniging West, Martini Ziekenhuis, Certe and Maartenshof, especially now during the work on Julianaplein. Other travelers are also very welcome on this bus, it is simply public transport,” adds Rosalinde Hoorweg, director of the Groningen Drenthe public transport agency.

“Collaboration pays off,” Nijhof continues. “By joining forces, this extra bus line can run. If we as companies encourage our employees to travel differently, we contribute to keeping the city accessible. In addition to the general social interest, this also contributes to keeping our hospital accessible for patients, visitors and emergency services. Unfortunately, with the expected crowds in the city, line 16 will also have to join the queue, but that still seems more comfortable to me than by car: time to read, do some work or stare out the window.”

New timetable

A new Qbuzz timetable also started on March 31, due to the activities of Operation Ring Zuid. This adjusted timetable is more resistant to possible delays on the road. In addition, more buses will run during rush hour from the five P+R areas. And from March 31, there will also be temporarily more buses running from the station in Zuidhorn than normal.
