During the corona pandemic we all clapped for the cleaners, but actually those days seem to be far behind us. The image of the industry is almost back to square one. To put cleaning in a positive light, a largest lunch will take place for all cleaners in the Netherlands on Cleaner’s Day – Friday, June 14.

Augias Schoonmakers organizes lunch for all cleaners

The beautiful afternoon is organized by Augias Schoonmakers from Zeist. “We not only pay attention to our own people, but we want everyone to shine and connect with each other,” says Cherise Bransen, employee of Augias Schoonmakers. “The cleaning industry is so big. Every cleaner deserves recognition, every day, just like during Corona. We want to put everyone in the spotlight.”

Special event

Cleaners are therefore invited to come to the Mooi Boules food bar in Amsterdam. From 12 noon to 3.30 pm everyone can enjoy a delicious lunch, a special guest speaker and a music performance. Afterwards there will be a richly filled goodie bag for everyone.

Cherise: “Our profession is so beautiful. We all speak the same language among ourselves. Wherever you come from, regardless of your origins, gender and religious beliefs. With us, everyone is equal and we would like to express that in this way.”

Little moments of happiness

‘No’ and ‘None’ are words that will not fall on the fourteenth. Augias only focuses on positivity. “We are going to create small moments of happiness that we give to everyone.” General manager Maurits Timmermans agrees. “The cleaner is often neglected and that affects us. We believe that all people should be seen and heard. We can contribute to this by organizing such a beautiful day.”
