The police found a dead woman in a house on Hoogstraat in Roosendaal on Tuesday evening. That happened around ten to eight. The police are investigating the street on Wednesday morning. Local residents are not surprised. “The neighborhood is deteriorating rapidly.”

A 41-year-old man of no fixed abode, who was present in the house, called the police himself and was arrested upon police arrival. The police are still investigating how exactly the victim died. She is considering a crime, a spokesperson said.

The suspect called the police himself. The police conducted further investigations on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Nothing is yet known about the relationship between the dead and arrested suspect.

BN DeStem reports that the victim is a Polish woman. The arrested suspect is said to be the boyfriend of the deceased woman, the newspaper reports.

Nuisance
According to a local resident, there is more frequent nuisance from the residents of the house. “There are many different people living there in one building. And that causes problems, not only here but throughout Roosendaal.”

A local resident who has lived in the street for 23 years sees the street deteriorating further and further. Several buildings have been boarded up with boards. He is not really surprised: “A lot of flakka is used here. That causes a nuisance. For example, all my windows were recently smashed.”

An entrepreneur also calls it ‘not a clean street’. “There are vagrants here urinating on the sidewalk. I then send them away, because there are also children walking here. I don’t know what happens in that building and I don’t want to know either.”
