We take a look at the innovation square, where students from Drenthe College create a sea of flowers. These were not picked themselves, but printed. How this all works was explained to us in great detail.
We also spoke with Nick Zoer from café De Brasserie. He is allowed to serve the royal family typical Drenthe delicacies, such as dreuge sausage and nagelhout. Are the Drenthe snacks popular with members of the Royal Family? We already took a sneak peek.
In the section Back in time we dive into history with Queen’s Day. In 1980, Beatrix, in her second year in office, visited Zuidlaren.
When you think of cycling, you quickly think of Drenthe. Young people from trial club Zuidoost-Drenthe have a great love for cycling. Their two-wheeler only has no saddle. They are trial bikes on which they show their skills. And the royal party will see that with their own eyes.
Our daily vox pop was also reviewed again. With some salty opinions about the king again today. “I don’t think he listens to me, but I would say: let him think about the people in the country. His own people.” Yet there were also positive criticisms. “He is doing very well. I say: enjoy life. And I think he does.”
Finally, we met with Lisa Hulzebos, Miss Beauty of Drenthe. She had to provide us with some unmissable tips.
