Gert Verhulst is “very proud and very happy” with the first Musical Award ever that his production house Studio 100 has won. The Flemish celebrity announced this on Thursday after winning the prize for his musical The 3 Biggetjes. The performance by K3 won the audience award for best family musical on Wednesday evening.

“I would like to thank everyone in the Netherlands for this great prize,” says Verhulst. “I am very proud of everyone who worked very hard for this. And we are very happy that the Netherlands has embraced this new performance so en masse.”

The story of The 3 Little Pigs is based on the fairy tale The Wolf and the Three Little Pigs. The leading roles are played by the members of the girl group, Marthe De Pillecyn (Knirri), Hanne Verbruggen (Knarri) and Julia Boschman (Knorri), but also by the Belgian actress Marie Verhulst. The Dutch actress Nurlaila Karim can also be seen as Mama Big.

It is already the third time that De 3 Biggetjes has successfully toured the Netherlands. K3 previously made a version of the piece in 2003 and 2007, with the singers who were part of the group at the time. The performance can be seen in the Netherlands until mid-June.
