Police in The Hague fire shots at confused man because of ‘threat’ | Domestic

The police shot at a man in The Hague on Saturday afternoon “due to a threatening situation”. It was a man with confused behavior, a police spokesperson told NU.nl. The incident happened around 5:30 PM on Bezuidenhoutseweg in The Hague.

The man was injured and taken to hospital. The police cannot yet say whether the injuries were caused by the police or something else. Several shots were fired.

The man reportedly threatened to harm himself. The police cannot confirm that. However, a spokesperson told NU.nl that the person was difficult to control. The situation then “escalated”, after which officers had to use force on the spot.
